You should use this safety gear every time you ride.
Before you arrive for class, make sure you are familiar with the safety dress code for the riding sessions. To ride you must have the following:
DOT-approved helmet
Eye protection such as sunglasses, clear safety glasses, goggles, or a face shield on your personal helmet
Long-sleeve shirt with sleeves that come all the way to your glove tops
Full-fingered gloves, preferably leather or simulated leather (no cloth palms or rubber gloves)
Long pants of sturdy material that come to the boot tops
Over-the-ankle footwear. This can be boots or high-top athletic wear.
We’ve been riding for years and recommend additional layers for long rides or rides on unprotected roadways. We’ll share tips at class, but the list above is the basics.
